Labor consistent in turning a blind eye to Albury Line

Premier Jacinta Allan and Minister for Public and Active Transport, Gabrielle Williams, have surprised no-one by staying true to their well demonstrated agenda of ignorance that continues to benefit only those within their electorate.

Labor's recent announcement for the introduction of over fifty new or extended weekend services to the Ballarat, Warrnambool, and Bendigo lines is a clear attempt to appease angry voters in Labor seats.

Jacinta Allan claims to have made regional travel more affordable for Victorian families through the regional fare cap and delivery of more services to four regional rail lines, with Wangaratta locals missing out yet again.

The sentiment behind the Premier's continued use of the term “regional Victoria” and “more services” is a blatant contradiction at best, and grossly deceptive at worst; particularly when looking at the struggles encountered in areas that sit outside of Labor's own seats.

The Nationals' Member for Ovens Valley, Tim McCurdy, said that the Government was offering nothing for North East residents on the overflowing Albury line.

"The lack of services available eradicates any ability for Albury Line users to have peace of mind, or guarantee, that they will indeed be able to rely on public transport to get them to the same places, for the same events as those located within Labor's 'regional' seats.

“The unabashed arrogance on show by the Allan Labor Government regarding the travesty that is our transport system is not only an insult to regional Victoria, but a red flag to those situated outside of Labor's preferred seats," Mr McCurdy said.

“The people who use the Albury Line are fed up with being perpetually ostracised, with no attention deemed necessary despite ongoing and well demonstrated need for additional services."

"Labor can’t manage public transport, and Regional Victorians are paying the price."
