The Nationals Member for Ovens Valley, Tim McCurdy, has slammed Federal Labor’s $1 billion "Road Blitz" as yet another example of the government's blatant disregard for regional Victoria.

The massive cash injection—announced to upgrade roads across Melbourne’s suburbs—is being labelled a slap in the face for regional motorists who continue to risk their lives on deteriorating and neglected country roads.

“Anthony Albanese and Jacinta Allan have once again put politics before people,” Mr McCurdy said.

“While Labor funnel money into Melbourne to win votes, regional Victorians are left dodging potholes, crumbling shoulders, and dangerous intersections.”

Mr McCurdy said the state of regional roads has become a daily hazard for locals, with no meaningful investment from either state or federal Labor governments.

“Imagine how far that $1 billion could have gone if even a fraction was spent fixing the roads that farmers, families and freight operators rely on every single day.”

“Labor has made it clear: if you don’t live in Melbourne, you don’t matter.”

Labor can’t manage roads, and regional Victorians are paying the ultimate price.
