Yarrawonga P-12 funding still overdue

Nationals Member for Ovens Valley, Tim McCurdy, has invited the Premier, Jacinta Allan, to visit the Yarrawonga P-12 College and see the desperate need for funding for completion of the final stage of works.

Speaking in Parliament, Mr McCurdy clashed with the Leader of the House, and pointed out Labor’s abysmal failure to fund the project.

“The final stage of Yarrawonga P-12 is desperate for some funding.

“It has not had funding since The Nationals were in government some time ago.

“Yes, it is 10 years since you [Labor] have not invested in Yarrawonga P-12 school, and that is really disappointing.”

Mr McCurdy decried the Labor Government as being shameless.

“They want affordable shovel ready projects; well we have a shovel ready project at an affordable price that has been waiting for years.

“Labor aren’t serious about the regions, they cut the funding so that they could pork barrel their own seats.

‘Yarrawonga is exploding, and we need a school that is ready for the population growth now, not 10 years too late.”
